Included in the photograph is Miles B. Hunt (5th from right) who served with the Michigan Cavalry and was discharged after receiving a head wound. His friend and fellow member of the Michigan Cavalry, Thaddeus Waters (4th from right), spent time as a prisoner of war in the infamous Andersonville prison and later wrote a book about his experiences. Other identified veterans in the picture are Joseph Allen (1st from the left), William Peacock (5th from the left) and Joseph Goodman (10th from left-front).
